I was tagged by Cher Mere, and as I always enjoy reading these and learning about everyone else, I am happy to play along! Plus, it’s nice and short.
The rules are simple…Each player lists 8 facts/habits about themselves. The rules of the game are posted at the beginning before those facts/habits are listed. At the end of the post, the player then tags 8 people and posts theirnames, then goes to their blogs and leaves them a comment, letting them know that they have been tagged and asking them to read your blog.
I am addicted to Web Boggle and Sudoku. I go through phases where I just don’t feel like reading anything too though-provoking and would rather just zone out — and I seem to be at the end of one of these phases now. I say “the end” because I find myself actually stopping Boggle on my own without someone yelling from downstairs that I am needed!
Hair was my favorite musical as a teen. I can sing you any song from that musical — go ahead, ask me! “I Met a Boy Called Frank Mills”? “White Boys/Black Boys”? “Manchester”? “My Conviction”? Bring it on! I have of late . . . but wherefore I know not lost all my mirth . . . (Yes, I know that is originally from Hamlet).
I have seen the following 80s hair/rock acts: Ratt, Quiet Riot, Loverboy (2x!), Poison, Whitesnake, Bon Jovi, Styx (2x!), Nazareth, ZZ Top, Quarterflash, Night Ranger (2x!), Bryan Adams, Def Leppard, Rick Springfield, Billy Squier, REO Speedwagon, Cheap Trick, and Sammy Hagar — in addition to the somewhat “cooler” 80s acts The Violent Femmes, Simply Red, David Bowie (the Modern Love version), The Dead Milkmen, The Outfield, and The Go Go’s. (who am I leaving out?) Anyway, all this well before turning 17. Impressive yet embarrassing to reflect on.
I totally adore Johnny Depp.
Purple is my most favoritist color. I am somewhat known for this among friends, who think it a little odd. I have many purple things, including a gorgeous purple wool winter dress coat trimmed in purple fur (and a cute purple purse to match!), purple dining room walls with a purple oriental rug, a purple rug in my office, and two children whose real life first or middle names are in some way related to the color purple. (That last was more weird coincidence, I think.)
The Litany of the Saints is my favorite part of all Catholic liturgy. I so often feel like a fish out of water, a square peg trying to fit into a round hole, but the Communion of Saints is so truly catholic (small-c catholic, as we say) that it is the one place, besides my own house, that I feel totally, 100% at home.
I don’t like to make my own cocktails. I’m an independant woman, but a cocktail tastes better when handed to me by a man. Currently enjoying Eggmaster-mixed Lemon Drops — and he makes the best Cosmos anywhere.
I can ask for the bathroom in four foreign languages: French, Spanish, Hebrew, and German, all of which I have studied for at least a year at some point in my life. (Seriously, “Where is the bathroom?” and (ironically?) “I forgot” are the only phrases I recall from Hebrew, which is a wonderful language to study. I can’t bring myself to toss the old notebooks.) I also studied Latin for many years — Arma virumque cano Troiae qui primus ab oris Italiam fato profugus Lavinaque venit litora . . . — and am currently trying to learn some Chinese.
I can’t think who to tag! Going back through the chain of memes it seems so many of my blog friends have done this already. So, if you can read this, you are too tagged.
