What a very dull way to spend the afternoon and early evening — giving fluids, drinking fluids (berry-flavored barium smoothie!), taking fluids intravenously, funny sci-fi-esque machines.
All to reveal what I knew before I went — I’m fine. Or at least, my pain has an unidentifiable cause.
So, until further notice, I am well.
The children were heart-warmingly concerned when I came home from the unplanned hospital visit. (Though Victoria was cutest last night, when she very seriously put her hand on my forehead and pronounced me “very warm.”) I got home just as they were going to sleep, so I was able to reassure them that nothing was wrong and that we’d have a great day tomorrow, and they drifted off without having to worry about when mom was coming home.
As for me, I have plenty of work I should do, but forget it. Six hours of tests and doctors and hospitals is work enough for one day.
